1st September 2010 - Welcome back Spring & Owen

Welcome spring and some better weather - Simplesime has new images up in his gallery to check out and he’s off to Japan for a week to see the wonders - Owen is back on deck - having completed a 3 month world tour - things are busy at the shop - please be patient and we look forward to seeing you soon.

8th August 2010 - John Entwistle - Tattooist Book released.

Danny Young (Tattoo Magic) & Jane Laver (Chapel Tattoo) have brought together a great result by creating a documentation of one of Melbourne’s pioneers of the tattoo industry in this new book released just this week - check it out now on the inkship site!







25th July 2010 - New cupcake maker takes control on Saturdays!

We love cupcakes by Carley our new Saturday shop girl - DrPepper flavour with Beetlejuice wrappers - so very cool - Vegan cappuccino icing - yep - she’s working every Saturday from now on!


7th July 2010 - More pics updated & Danny, Caleb & Geordie all come home

Some great new images in Geordie’s gallery. Also better images of Melbourne AFL player Nathan Jones’ sleeve tattoo in Sime’s gallery. William is back as of Monday from his fishing trip in NZ. Geordie, Danny & Caleb are all back and in action with appointments back in full swing. Great to have em back. Owen is still MIA - NYC is handing out the heat for him...

William is back at Tattoo Magic after doing a guest spot in New Zealand, so he’s about if you wanna get in contact. Caleb is about to jump on a plane for his world tour, keep an eye on the latest news and we’ll keep you up to date with his travels, destinations & tattooing.

The latest addition to the team at Tattoo Magic joining us from March onwards, is Sime a.k.a Simplesime. So check out his gallery to view his work.

7th January 2010 - Tips for booking & busy times...

We are busy at the moment - Geordie is working through an extensive list of requests for large scale work and has  given priority to commenced customer projects, primarily to keep artistically fresh and offer the best tattooing. He has appointments scheduled all throughout this year. He really appreciates everyones enthusiasm & patience and would like to thank everyone for their commitment in enduring this hectic time.

Owen is accepting consultation requests at this stage, he maybe traveling abroad later this year. 

Sean has a 2 year wait for custom work (less time for small pieces), his list of drawing puts him out to over 2 years of planned work and he is steadily working through it. Thanks to all his clients for their patience.

Custom artwork from William is managed in 6 month blocks -
and his handling around 12-15 pieces to concentrate on, for these blocks. Expressions of interest are recorded to file & processed at the artists discretion.

Danny & Caleb have steady schedules with potential for near future appointment times.

Another part-time tattooist will be joining the crew from February and will be taking on work as it comes in.

7th January 2010 - New YEAR, New Prices...

Our hourly rate has increased to $160, and the minimum charge is $100 for small tattoos. This rate is effective from the start of 2010.

So after a long decade of slaying ink at Tattoo Magic - Tim is moving on, he is working in Victoria at Third Eye Tattoo in 2010 - he can be contacted via email or on his myspace page. Good luck...


10th September - Back to school


AND - we have got the new team together - Tattoo Magic in conjunction with Nacional are sponsoring a new cycling team which will be racing all around victoria over the summer, their website will be up soon, more updates on that soon - but check out the devil boy - riding past you soon...

Tattoo care


Before your appointment


Make sure you are well rested and try not
to consume alcohol the evening before your appointment. Make sure you are not affected
by drugs or alcohol whilst attending your appointment as you will not be tattooed.

Eat something so your blood sugar
levels are up.

 

After care

Use bepanthen or protat cream to help your

tattoo heal. After 1 hour you can remove the bandage. Wash your tattoo well with warm water and soap. You don’t need to bandage
it again. Your tattoo will take approximately
two weeks to fully heal.

Don’t pick or scratch it while it’s healing.

Avoid direct sun on your healing tattoo.

Do not swim or soak your healing tattoo in water. You can wash it as normal in the shower.

Keep your tattoo clean and apply a small
amount a bepanthen or protat cream a
few times a day as needed.



Call or come and see us if you feel you have


any concerns with the healing of your tattoo.

We work by appointment only. You need to come in and see us to make an appointment.

If you are from out of town, you can post us a
$50 money order and we will call you to arrange an appointment time.

We have a minimum charge of $100 for
all tattooing, we charge  $160 per hour for larger ongoing work. Small pieces are not charged according to an hourly rate. A deposit of $50 per hour of tattooing is required for all appointments, all deposits float until the last session. Deposit  is only redeemable within
24 hours notice of cancellation. All prices include GST. Cash only.
